Permits

Permits Matter in the Kitchen Too

Replacing cabinets and counters in the same layout usually does not need a permit. Moving plumbing, adding circuits, removing walls, or changing gas lines does.

Unpermitted kitchen work can create problems with insurance claims and home sales, so we permit the work that requires it.

Usually needs a permit

  • Moving plumbing. New sink or island locations.
  • New circuits. Appliances, lighting, and outlets.
  • Wall removal. Especially load-bearing walls.
  • Gas lines. New or relocated gas appliances.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you supply cabinets?

Yes. We can source cabinetry through our suppliers or install cabinets you purchase.

Can you move my sink or add an island?

Usually, yes. On slab-on-grade homes, moving plumbing means cutting the slab, which we plan for in the scope and price.

Will I have a kitchen during the remodel?

Not for most of the project. We give you a schedule upfront so you can plan around it.

Can you remove the wall between the kitchen and living room?

Often, yes. If the wall is load-bearing, an engineer designs the beam and we permit the work.
